Hall of Famer Fetisov Brings Multi-Sport Philosophy Back To Russian Hockey

A hockey legend who multiple Stanley Cup titles, Olympic gold medals, world championships and world junior championships, Hockey Hall of Famer Slava Fetisov is bringing Russian hockey training back to its roots as a multi-sport pursuit.

A member of the Russian Senate and formerly the country's Minister of Sport, Fetisov also operates a youth hockey academy outside of Moscow.

As writer Gillian Kemmerer found out, Fetisov and his fellow instructors are striving to take a multi-sport approach with the kids, emphasizing cross training and off-ice activity as well as training in the rink on skates.
